Northwestern-Illinois at Wrigley Field
November 29, 2010On Saturday, November 20th, Northwestern and Illinois faced off in the first football game at Wrigley Field in forty years, and the first college football game since 1938. Since it was a “home” game for Northwestern, they painted the iconic Wrigley Field marquee purple. Due to space confinements, the teams agreed to reverse sides of the field on each possession in order to minimize the danger of a player running into the brick wall in the outfield. Illinois ended up winning handily, 48-27.
